One Amazon Link Can Lead to a Shopping Spree

The amazing thing about one Amazon link on your Squidoo lens or web page is that it can lead to several sales to the same person in one go.

Many people make a lens or page containing many links to different products on Amazon.com, Amazon.co.uk or other Amazon sites in your targeted countries. That’s not a bad thing to do as long as your page is interesting enough to keep visitors reading and looking at your links. This is why it’s important to make your links to Amazon products relevant to the subject of the lens.

Now is the Time to Promote Gardening Pages

My favourite climbing plants

My favourite climbing plants

Here in the UK, we are enjoying beautiful, warm, sunny weather. It’s much more like summer than spring and not what we expect in April.

As usual when there’s a sudden warm, sunny spell, we all change to summer clothes and start thinking about our gardens. Garden centres are doing booming business and people are busy digging or weeding their neglected flower and vegetable beds as well as sowing seeds and putting in plants – let’s hope none of them are tender because we could still have hard frosts at night.

My Latest Page Is About Novelty Clocks

squidoo, writing

Novelty Clocks - Useful and FunI finished a Squidoo lens yesterday called Novelty Clocks – Useful and Fun. It was inspired by my kitchen clock, a picture of which I use in the introduction. I’ve had this clock for about eight years and I still like it very much.

It’s a straightforward sales page but I have written something about each clock I feature so it’s not just copy and paste.

One of the reasons I wrote it was because I wanted relevant pages for Unusual Novelty Teapots and Local Time and Railway Time. I’ve struggled for about a year to find something relevant to go with the page about Railway Time. I know novelty clocks aren’t very relevant but they both have something to do with time so that’s good enough for me!

A Mini Lensography is Good for a New Squidoo Page

Books Make Great Gifts

I write book reviews of fairly obscure books – never those in the top 100 best sellers, probably not even the top 10,000! This week I decided to publicise them a bit with a Squidoo mini lensography called Books Make Great Gifts.

I just spent a week’s holiday (vacation) staying at my best friend’s house in Bournemouth on the English south coast. I was very lucky with the weather because it was hot and sunny all day, everyday and the good weather continues still.

Bournemouth Gardens in the centre of the town.

I can’t believe I haven’t posted here for so long. My excuse is that I was still fed up with all the online politics but didn’t want to write about it anymore. On a happier note, I’ve also been away for a week staying with my best friend in Bournemouth, a popular seaside town on the south coast.

I’m Going to try Quilling

I made my own Christmas cards for close friends and family last Christmas and I looked on Flickr for ideas as it was the first time I’ve ever made cards. I saw some great ones made using quilling and instantly wanted to learn how to do it.

I couldn’t buy a quilling kit or supplies locally so I bought a small kit online. I also ordered a book on quilling techniques from Amazon.

I haven’t got round to trying to quill yet but maybe this evening I’ll have a go. I don’t suppose I’ll be able to do anything as good as the examples in these pictures.

I do love trying new crafts. I knit, cross-stitch and do other kinds of embroidery, patchwork to name a few.

This short book, Miniature Quilling is helpful and can get you started.

If you’re a beginner like me, register for this great program, Quilling Magic, that guides you through making great examples of quilling like the peacock featured below.
